- Past and Present -
Here are a few snaps of some of our current first team players, showing where it all began. This could be your son or daughter!
One thing that has not changed over the years is post training coke and crisps!
We think you can all agree he’s done a ton of work for the club and a lot of it behind the scenes and will be missed both in his coaching and DO role as well as working closely with the SRU.
They will both be missed and we wish them all the very best when the twins arrive at the start of the year. Please pass this invite on to kids, parents and other coaches and committee past and present - we look forward to seeing you all at the club on Friday evening! (They have to be in Stromness for the boat by nine, so it won’t be a late night) Orkney RFC is looking for a dynamic and committed Rugby Development Officer to work with us to drive the aims of the club forward in line with the club's development plan and Scottish Rugby's vision. The club aspires to deliver a high quality rugby development programme that creates a positive and supportive environment for its players, coaches, and club officials.
Players & parents: please remember that you need to update your scrums record to keep it active.
Every player registered in SCRUMS has had their account made inactive, identified by (!) next to their individual ID number. Prior to a player’s name being added to a team sheet, the player MUST log into SCRUMS and reactivate their account. If you haven’t done so already, please do this as soon as possible. You can log into SCRUMS here: https://scrums.scottishrugby.org/login
Orkney Rugby Club also requires a person computer literate in Microsoft Publisher to make up home match-week posters as well as match-day programmes on a Friday once team sheets are received for distribution the following day. The person must be familiar or willing to learn on Microsoft Publisher.
If you can help with either of these positions, please contact either:
The day started with a 6:30am ferry to Scrabster, grateful thanks go to Darren McGee for organising the travel, and to ORFC for their financial support once again, keeping individual costs down for 50 children and 10 coaches heading over. With some bleary eyed travellers we were spoiled with breakfast sponsorship from Scottish Sea Farms, which was well received and set up the troops for the long day ahead, fantastic generosity from them for this.
The CPO role is an important one and should cover the following broad areas:
